TV, Portugal’s leading channel
TVI began broadcasting on February 20, 1993. It is Portugal’s leading TV network and covers practically the entire country thanks to its own broadcast network. TVI has been the absolute market leader in Portugal round the clock since 2005 and is also the top-ranking Portuguese channel in terms of advertising revenues.
TVI is part of Media Capital, owned by Grupo PRISA. 2009 saw the launch of TVI24, a 24-hour news channel available on various cable platforms, while 2010 saw the launch of TVI Internacional , a general-interest international channel, created with the objective of building links between Portugal and other Portuguese speaking countries worldwide.
